Which tools are available? #
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
list_brands |
Lists your active brands, connected sites and role on each brand. |
upcoming_articles |
Shows the next 20 scheduled articles and the last 10 published posts for one brand. |
add_idea |
Adds a title, optional keyword and notes to the idea queue. |
write_article_now |
Starts one article from a topic or an idea ID. It uses article quota. |
run_status |
Shows run progress and a link to the resulting article. |
approve_article |
Approves a draft for publication. It can publish the article now. |
Ask the AI app to confirm before it starts an article or approves publication. A started article uses the same quota checks, writing keys and publication workflow as the dashboard. It can publish automatically if that workflow allows it. Review holds still apply. Write your free first article from the PostSprout dashboard. The connector uses your regular article quota.
Who can read or write? #
You can use only active brands where you are a member. Owners and editors can use write tools. Viewers can use read tools. Platform administrators receive no extra access through this connection. Using a second brand in chat does not switch your dashboard brand.
The six tools cannot change billing, start checkout, change account access, edit site credentials, cancel runs or release review holds. Create your account, manage your subscription and make payments on postsprout.app.
PostSprout gives the app a connector token that works only with the six tools. The token cannot sign in to Supabase or access the database, storage or account settings directly. PostSprout checks your account and brand access on every request. Access tokens last up to one hour. Refresh tokens rotate and last up to 30 days. Each connection expires 90 days after you approve it, even if you use it often. Reconnect to continue. Reuse of a consumed code revokes the connection. Reuse of a consumed refresh token revokes it while PostSprout retains that token hash. PostSprout keeps used refresh hashes for at least one day, then removes them during cleanup. A removed token stays invalid.
The consent page labels the app name as provided by the app. Check the return host before you approve. PostSprout accepts only HTTPS connector callbacks on the exact hosts claude.ai, claude.com and chatgpt.com. It refuses subdomains, query strings and fragments. Claude uses /api/mcp/auth_callback. ChatGPT uses /connector/oauth/{callback_id} or /connector_platform_oauth_redirect. Claude Code local HTTP callbacks are not supported.
Do not repeat a successful write request to check progress. Use run_status. Adding an idea or starting an article again can create another item. Disconnecting does not cancel work that has already started.
How do I disconnect? #
Open Connected AI apps on PostSprout. Select Revoke access for the app. Also remove or disconnect PostSprout in the AI app's settings. Reconnect and approve again if you want to restore access.
The AI app provider receives the tool results. Review the privacy policy before you connect.
